I met Karen online about four months ago while I was in the midst of preparing for my third bodybuilding competition. If you know competition prep, it is tough on the mind and body and every contest is different. I was in a rut with my dieting and couldn't figure out what to do next. I was afraid of cutting too soon and not cutting soon enough. I was suffering from the extreme dieting and intense training and I could feel that my body was starting to starve, eventually lose more muscle than I wanted to.
I found Karen on the Bodybuilding.com website in a forum about female bodybuilding, so I went to her website and was so pleased with her wealth of knowledge about bodybuilding. I wrote to her and explained my problem and she knew exactly what I was going through. She gave me great advice that I needed at that point, which was to add essential fat. I did exactly what she said and I was so amazed at how much muscle was preserved just by adding fat to my contest. diet.
My show was in April 2004, The Ronnie Coleman Classics in Grapevine, TX. I was feeling great about my routine and after Karen's help, even my training got better and I was able to train harder. My whole intention was to win that show. At that point I didn't know how I was going to do it, but I had it in my mind to win. It just so happened that Karen was the "how" for me.
I wrote to her again quite a few times for more advice as I got closer and every bit helped me in a major way. Well, I won that show, in the lightweight women's novice division. The funny thing was. I was trying so hard to make middleweight, but when I got there, there were no middleweights in the competition, only lightweights. With Karen's help, I was right where I was supposed to be. It is amazing how God puts certain people in your path at a particular crucial point in your life to provide support and help.
I thank her for all of her help, because be the professional that she is, she doesn't have to offer free help, but she does and that means a lot to me. It means her heart is in the sport and there's nothing like help and support coming from the heart. Thank you Karen!!

"When Karen told me she'd help me, I had no idea that she would TRANSFORM me. I weighed in at 106 pounds when we started, not a lot, but it was more fat than muscle. In eleven and a half weeks Karen was there for me every step of the way. She'd send me via email, a workout program and menu when I asked for it. She also went as far as to remember me and my daughter's birthdays and send us wishes. By the time I took the stage on Oct 27, 2001 for my very first bodybuilding competition, I weighed in at 96 lbs with only 6% body fat. She couldn't be there, but my boss (who's a bodybuilder, and said I should've won) was. When my boss asked me how I did it, I gave Karen all the credit for the direction and advice and wisdom she unselfishly gave.
At the same time my computer went down for a week. Karen actually called me long distance, to see how I placed and congratulated me.
When I do my next show, it will be Karen I come to, because I know first hand that she knows how to transform my body. She supplies the wisdom, pep talks, and you supply the work.
